Description
Too many people populate the forests where Laura and her family live. So they decide to move west and start a new life on the prairie where the Indians live. On a covered wagon they start the long journey from Wisconsin to Kansas. Pa builds a new house and soon they resume their usual life. A happy time begins, but the land they live on now is Indian land. At night the drums thunder and the warlike cries of the Indians put the family in terror. And then the prairie begins to burn... The history of the pioneer journey of Laura and her family has moved and carried many generations. The endless expanses of the still sparsely populated North American continent, the colourful facets of the diverse vegetation and the exciting adventures of little Laura are also inspiring.
