Beautiful dresses, fabrics and fittings are actually Ella's world. But her new job as a seamstress is no ordinary one and neither are her customers - Ella works in the tailor shop of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. That's where she was taken, and only her skills at the sewing machine have saved her from the gas chamber so far. Now, every garment she makes for concentration camp guards or high-ranking SS officers' wives can mean the difference between life and death for her. So Ella throws herself into her work, after all it also offers her a tiny piece of normalcy in the everyday hell of the concentration camp. But does her love of clothes and creativity betray her and her fellow prisoners, or is it her only way to stay alive?
