Care for damaged, weak and brittle hair

Having damaged, weak, and brittle hair can leave you feeling frustrated and helpless. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to ensure the health and beauty of your hair. It all starts with understanding what causes the Problem, so that you know how to go about fixing it.

Common factors that could lead to damaged hair are over-shampooing and using styling products with harsh chemicals like sulfates, peroxide, and alcohol. Heat styling tools such as blow dryers and curling irons can also damage the cuticle layer of your hair if used too often or at too high of a temperature. Furthermore, sun exposure can further weaken your strands so it's best to limit time in the sun or wear a hat when out for long periods of time.

Now that we understand why our hair is getting damaged, let's talk about ways we can bring it back to life! First of all, use warm water when washing your hair instead of hot water which strips away the natural oils from the scalp that keep your hair healthy. Secondly, use shampoos specifically designed for damaged or color-treated hair as these have been formulated with ingredients that nourish and protect rather than strip away nutrition from your hair. Additionally, try using a conditioner after every wash as this will help seal any breaks in the cuticles and stop them from fraying further. Lastly, use deep conditioning masks once a week to replenish any lost moisture in your locks - these masks require longer contact times with your strands so they penetrate deeply into each strand while providing essential vitamins and minerals needed for healthy growth.

When heat styling your locks make sure to always use a heat protectant spray before using any hot tool on the strands. This will create an additional barrier between the heat source and the delicate structure of the hair follicles protecting them against breakage while still maintaining style control over them. Moreover, try not to apply too much tension when brushing or styling as this can cause damage due to additional pressure being applied on already fragile strands - instead opt for light motions when brushing through knots or tangles whenever possible.

Finally, leave-in treatments are another great way to restore health back into weak or brittle tresses - look for products enriched with essential oil extracts like jojoba oil which moisturize but don't weigh down even finer hair types due to their lightweight consistency when applied onto strands from mid-length down until tips avoiding roots altogether - leave these treatments in overnight for best results!
