BioSkin AFTR DC Ankle Brace

The AFTR DC is designed to stabilize the hindfoot and ankle to enhance the recovery process. The "DC" stands for "dorsal closure" which is the unique design to accommodate post-injury pain and swelling. The front flaps of the ankle brace allow the brace to be worn tighter as swelling is reduced in the foot. The dorsal closure also allows for a pain-free and easy application process, especially when compared to a stiff lace-up brace design. Additional swelling control is provided by removable gel pads behind each of the ankle bones. The gel pads provide passive massage and remove swelling from this common accumulation site behind the ankle bones. You can place the gel pads in the freezer for cold therapy as well. Plastic stays on both sides of the ankle and a figure 8 stirrup strap work together to provide the stabilization needed to allow the injured tissue time to heal. The brace limits medial and lateral motion without affecting plantar and dorsiflexion, allowing the brace to comfortably support your foot and ankle during activity. The AFTR DC is constructed from the breathable, hypoallergenic materials to provide comfortable compression to the foot in order to reduce swelling and enhance recovery.
