A new, effervescently cheeky voice in young people's books Lucie thinks she's hit the jackpot when she comes across a notice offering a completely overpaid dog-walking job. As it turns out, however, the dog is long dead and the notice the hoax of a probably crazy old man looking for a ghostwriter for his weird cookbook. Of course, Lucie doesn't believe a word when he blathers on about top-secret ingredients like dragon hearts (which bear a strong resemblance to tomatoes) or werewolf spit (which looks suspiciously like honey). Still, she cooks up a recipe or two, the love potion, for example. Not that she's really into Marvin - everyone else is - but it's worth a try. Awarded the German Youth Literature Prize 2020.
