Lockhart's Unorthodox Water Based Goon Grease

Steve Lockhart has worked on this formulation for a long time. The pomade combines the flexibility and combability of an oil-based pomade with the easy wash-out of a water-based pomade. Handling is typically very easy with water-based systems. For example, the pomade can be removed from the can without resistance. The consistency is soft and smooth, a little different than most gel pomades. Working it in goes as if by itself, ideally into the still slightly damp hair. The pomade does not harden, but remains flexible and combable throughout the day. Due to the oil content, the hair feels pleasantly cared for after washing. The shine is in the upper range. Very strong at the beginning, but becomes less during the day. This then remains but in the upper middle range, as with most water-based pomades.
