Care Plus Rescue blanket

The rescue blanket belongs for good reason in every first aid kit and should not be missing even on long outdoor trips. The lightweight foil blanket is hardly noticeable in your luggage and offers important protection in emergencies, even from extreme cold or heat. How the Care Plus rescue blanket works is quickly explained: when it is very cold outside, the golden side is placed on the outside and when it is hot, the silver side is placed on the inside. The latter is highly reflective due to a wafer-thin aluminium layer. This allows it to reflect the sun's rays outwards and can be used as a kind of sun sail in hot temperatures. Worn on the inside, it reflects body heat and thus prevents it from cooling down too quickly. . The golden side is a thin polyester film, which has the advantage that you can see it better in cold, snowy areas than the silver side. The blanket is also windproof, which prevents the body from cooling down even more in cold weather, for example by evaporation of sweat. It should therefore cover the whole person except for the face when it is cold. . When it is hot, however, it should be stretched out as a protective cover rather than worn tightly against the body, so that the person in distress does not overheat and the sweat can fulfil its cooling function.
