VITAMIN D3 AND VITAMIN K2-MK-7 - BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE FORM FOR IMPROVED ABSORPTION
Both vitamins belong to the biologically active forms and are therefore much better absorbed by the body than, for example, ergosterol (viamin D2) and phylloquinone (vitamin K1). The absorption rate of vitamin K2 is 6 to 8 times higher compared to vitamin K1.
This is mainly due to the biologically active vitamin K form, menaquinone-7 (MK-7), or MK7 for short. It is, so to speak, a 99% all-trans vitamin K2 form that is much better absorbed by the body. This vitamin K2 MK-7 99% all-trans form is thus more bioavailable and belongs to the gold standard among vitamin K forms.
VITAMIN D AND VITAMIN K - A PERFECT TEAM
These two vitamins complement each other perfectly, which is why they should be taken together. This is the only way calcium can be introduced into the teeth and bones. Supplementation of high-dose vitamin D3 alone can lead to higher consumption of vitamin K2. A resulting vitamin K2 bottleneck can lead to an imbalance in calcium metabolism in the long term. A prolonged bottleneck may be accompanied by deposition in the blood vessels and organs. This is because vitamin K2 has an inhibitory effect on the development of hardening of the arteries (artherosclerosis) and is also responsible for the elasticity of the blood vessel walls.
