Bach flower therapy is named after the English physician Dr. Edward Bach (1886-1936). The purely medical care of his patients was no longer sufficient for him, as it did not take their moods and characteristics into account individually. He suspected that healing could take place more quickly through a change in attitude to life and looked for an additional form of therapy; inspired by homeopathy, he relied on the power of nature.
In order to be able to balance the mental disharmony of his patients, he gradually searched for and found 38 different flowers and spring waters, from which he produced essences using simple methods.Today, the flowers are still collected in the wild on the sites determined by Dr. Bach.
Bach flowers have - as mentioned - a harmonizing effect on the soul; they soothe and balance negative feelings and moods, such as insecurity, fear, jealousy, or greed and selfishness.
The helping drops
The flowers are usually sold in drop form in pharmacies, but there are also flower ointments to apply to the skin. Usually after 3-4 weeks of treatment (4x4 drops daily) there is a clear improvement in the emotional states. It should be taken into account that the longer the mental stress has already existed, the more time passes until an improvement is seen (experience: between 1-20 months).
Side effects
It is very important that there are absolutely no side effects when taking Bach flowers, it can only happen if the wrong state of mind is assumed that no improvement of the complaints occurs.
One must not forget that Bach flowers are not miracle cures, they have a supporting effect, and they do not replace medication.
A therapist or Bach counsellor makes an inventory of the respective states of mind of the soul world of the patient through a conversation and selects the appropriate flower essences.
