While the attacking mother ship sinks to earth, mankind is forced to subterranean Hide bases to protect yourself from the bombing. As the leader of your base, you have to develop a weapon to destroy the aliens while expanding the base and defending against the enemy ships. Can you complete the mission before your base is destroyed?
Under Falling Skies is a solo game with a campaign that spans multiple missions. In each mission you have to lead a different city to the victory over the invading aliens - or go under together with the remnants of humanity.
The core of the game mechanics is an innovative dice placement system, which simultaneously your actions and those of the enemy ships certainly. Larger numbers of dice give you more options, but they also cause the alien ships to approach your city faster.
Your job is to advance research in order to develop a weapon with which the aliens can be repulsed can. To do that, you have to expand the city's underground base to gain access to more powerful actions, shoot down enemy ships, and multiply your actions through the use of robots, and in all of this you must never neglect the power supply!
Because when the mother ship, which is getting closer with every round, should reach your city, only ashes will remain.
The original idea for Under Falling Skies won the BGG 9 Card Game competition in 2019 Print and Play Design Contest in several categories: best solitaire game, most thematic game, most innovative mechanics and even the best overall game.
