Fourteen-year-old Frieda and her best friend Max live with their families on the Icelandic farm Hohensonne. When there is a fire in a neighbouring riding stable, Frieda is shocked. Although all the horses managed to escape the fire, a mare runs away with her foal and has been missing ever since. For Frieda and Max it is clear that they want to help the two horses. Together with their Icelandic horses Alvara and Solon they set out on a search to bring the mare and her young foal to the Icelandic farm Hohensonne. Can they win the trust of the fearful horses there?...
